This act of kindness is solely thanks to Jessie. I was telling her that I was a few days behind on my acts due to being sick. I also mentioned how I'd missed a lot of work because I don't want to spread my germs, and I have no energy. For example, yesterday I took two naps and still went to bed fairly early. Right now, I'm drained but I want to catch up on some things to be not as far behind. During this discussion, she mentioned that calling off work IS an act of kindness because I'm being kind to my coworkers and others I would encounter.
I have been sick, on different levels, since December 28. First it was a cold, then I got the flu, then it became bronchitis, and currently a sinus infection. In this time, I have called off from one job twice and the other six times. Does this seem extreme? On paper, it seems like it. I have gone to the doctor twice. The last time I went for feeling ill was in high school. Eight years ago! Between the start of my senior year in 2004 and the start of my second year in college, I had strep throat 13 times. Eventually that got solved with getting my tonsils removed, but it still sucked goose eggs. But now I have an antibiotic and so hopefully this will finally kick the crud out of my system. I don't want to be a host any longer!
